Drumming

Drumming is where I feel most at home. From the first time I sat behind a kit, I knew rhythm would be a lifelong companion that could challenge me, ground me, and keep me connected to the people around me. The drums are more than an instrument for me; they’re a way to listen more deeply, to respond in the moment, and to bring energy and emotion to every performance.

I’m currently a drummer with The Campfire Poets, a band known for its wide mix of songs and ability to get people singing along and moving. Playing with them has sharpened my ability to support a song, read a crowd, and lock in with the rest of the band so the music feels effortless and fun. I also play with Larry Kurtz & The Lawbreakers, where the focus on blues and roots music gives me space to lean into groove, dynamics, and feel. Each band draws out a different side of my playing, and I value both for the unique musical conversations they offer.

Drumming fulfills me in countless ways. It keeps me creatively engaged, constantly learning new ideas and approaches. It strengthens my focus and discipline through practice and performance. Most of all, it gives me a powerful way to connect—with bandmates on stage, with audiences in the moment, and with myself every time I pick up the sticks. Whether I’m in the studio, on stage, or practicing at home, drumming continues to be one of the most rewarding and meaningful parts of my life.
